Great summary I've never seen DF "move around" so much during a show and
seemingly actually enjoying the performance (all in very stark contrast to
the not-so-good-rained-out show at the Chateau S:t Michelle last year).

Oh, missed some material from "Two Against Nature" and the light effects
covering the drummer were simple but spectacular!

Sound wise I'd say there was some distortion due to the acoustics of
Paramount, but my ears are also getting old and that might be it. We were
sitting 2nd row on the upper (3rd) mezzanine. A lot of people dancing at the
very top of that mezzanine.

different sides of the lake just don't work...)

Subject: [DANDOM-SEATTLE] SPOILER: 10/12 Seattle Show - Aja played
withperfection and grace

This was yet another phenomenal show from start to finish. The band is a
true class act, so polished and accurate. In my opinion, they met or in some
cases exceeded the quality of the original recordings.
The crowd was quite lively, though I witnessed far less dancing than in the
outdoor venues. I suspect the theater setting is responsible for this. At 26
years of age, I'm an outlier at a SD show every time.
I was surprised, however, to see more than a handful of "younger"
(under 30) people scattered throughout the crowd.

Sam Yahel Trio (with their new bassist) opened the show at 7:35ish with
three nice organ pieces. The band took the stage at about 8:30.

Setlist as follows:
Teenie's Blues
Aja album in its entirety (Carolyn drops the needle on the record for both
sides A and B -- nice touch!) Black Friday Time Out of Mind (this one may
have come after "Daddy", can't remember) Daddy Don't Live in that NY City No
More (WB vocals) Bodhisattva Babylon Sisters Showbiz Kids Hey Nineteen Dirty
Work Love is Like an Itching in My Heart w/ Band Intros Do it Again Don't
Take Me Alive My Old School Kid Charlemagne

Encore:
Reelin' in the Years (LP version)
Last Tango in Paris

A few notes about the show:
-After performing the Aja album, DF took a few moments to inform the
audience of the significance of the Seattle Paramount Theater to SD:
it was the venue for the band's first professional gig back in 1972.
They were the opening act for The James Gang.
-I've seen SD 5 times and I've never seen DF more spirited on stage, he was
having a great time.
-DF's voice was in top form from beginning to end.
-WB didn't do his rap during Hey Nineteen. The spot came on him and he sang
a few words I couldn't decipher, then they transitioned into the Cuervo Gold
chorus. I suspect this was due to some notes that had fallen from a music
stand at the front of the stage. DF later walked out and picked them up
during the band intros.
-Carolyn was looking and sounding oh so fine...
-WB and Herington both stole the show with plenty of intricate guitar work.
Their styles are so different, yet they balance each other quite well (one
does not dominate the other).
